Hey Ho! It’s Another Movie Contest!

A new mini contest has been announced on the message board here. Returning to one of the old favorites, this one concerns naming movie posters used to make up the image given.

In the past, mini contests have included identifying movies that cars come from and general trivia.

“It’s something to get everyone in the community involved” stated mini contest coordinator Marlowe. “Everyone, with a little work, should be able to get at least one guess correct. That’s a contest point there, which can add up if we can keep up with new ones.”

For the newer players in town, the HTG movie database can be accessess through the dropdown menu on the front page. It’s got a vast amount of information, including poster images from past HTG films.

Our Own Kid Talks About The Kid 2 and Some Other Kid Like Stuff

Hi, it’s me, Wrestleboy, your source for news from the squared circle and beyond.

You all know John Cena. He’s a hotshot WWE former champ. He’s going for the title again on Sunday night at WWE’s 25th Wrestlemania. Cool stuff. Will he make an appearance in TCW, our very own wrestling franchise here in HTG? Beats me. I hear yes, I hear no. I guess when it happens, it happens.

But you can’t miss what’s going on at the Coliseum Hall. John Cena’s having his very own concert! How cool is that? Lucian Carter wrote some songs for the part-time rapper/actor. I’m really psyched! Cena’s also going to be in The Kid 2: The Rise, opening this upcoming weekend. It’s the sequel to the surprisingly good The Kid (of course). I guess that makes this John Cena week. Woo hoo!

Did you notice that those TCW guys are asking for input on their wrestlers on the HTG message board? Viewer input’s cool. I can dig it. I can’t wait until they ask about BLZ Bubb. He threw his lunch at me the other day when I was poking around. I’m going to say he’s a grouch. When he gets a piledriver in some upcoming match, I’ll laugh. Laugh out loud.

Anyway, go to the coliseum to watch John Cena’s concert. It’ll be major cool. Thanks. See you all when I have some juicy wrasslin’ news.

Did You See…?

A new HTG Mini Event has begun, a name-that-movie contest. Intended to break up the everyday routine of HTG Hollywood life, mini-events provide contest points, prizes or sometimes good ol’ HTG dollars. All HTG citizens are invited to enter the current contest and earn some contest points. Even a completely wrong entry will earn a person points.

Mini events are shorter in duration than normal Town Events. Another event is planned for the near future.

What You Didn’t See At the Ceremony Part One

It was an enjoyable afternoon for many in HTG Hollywood. The 8th HTG Awards had taken place and many were on their way to various parties and gatherings to share in good cheer. But the day turned out to be anything but enjoyable for actor Milo Ventimiglia.

According to eyewitnesses, Milo was driving a vehicle after the ceremony with actress Alexis Bledel in the passenger seat. While their car was stopped at a stop light, it was swarmed by a large number of movie fans. Milo could not proceed with the people in the way, so he took a step out to ask people to back away. When the people refused, Milo lost his temper.

“It was wild,” declared a person at the intersection. “That guy got out of his car and started yelling at us. All we wanted was an autograph from Best Actress Alexis. But, no, her driver wouldn’t hear of it. He started pushing people away from his car. He even spit on a woman near me. Her boyfriend didn’t like that, so he rushed the driver. Fortunately for that guy from the car, police had arrived to break things up. I bet it was going to get pretty messy. The cops backed up everyone so that Alexis could leave. We didn’t get her autograph, but we sure did enjoy her winning the Yoda tonight. Good for her.”

Apparently no one at the scene recognized Milo Ventimiglia, who was nominated for Best Actor.

“I guess people are attracted to winners,” guessed a Happening staffer. “Maybe Milo can win something next time.”

Chief Winslow of the HTG Police Department has stated that no charges will be brought to anyone involved in the brief incident.

This Year I Hope They Give Away Yodas Filled With Sugar Free Chocolate

Nominees for the next HTG Awards have been posted, with Checkmate’s (Bishop) Ballad of Mike Roulette and Miracle Pictures’ (JGraham) Obsession leading the pack of nominated films. Although vote counter Ritchie Steven declared that there were “some real surprises,” most nom votes were what was expected. Non-film nominations include for journalists RS of the Hollywood Times, Lucian for varied reporting and the new Musings, plus our own EIC Marlowe for this news source.

“I get very few votes otherwise” stated the Happ editor, “so I’m always thrilled to get that one.”

Final voting will commence soon, with an awards ceremony to be held some time after. Dates will be announced soon.

UPDATE: You can vote now, through three links on the same post (linked above). Voting will end at the end of the day on 2/12/09. The date for the awards ceremony has yet to be determined. Rumor has it that, in order to speed the event along, a new format might be given. No speeches? Sexy women in bikinis handing the Yodas out? Hmm.

Now’s the time to go over the possibilities (link to eligible list of movies is in the message) to see if any stick out in your mind.

Nomination voting will last approximately one week. Good luck!
