Novel Needs Plucky Producer
Ship of Fooles Studio is seeking a producer to adapt a movie from the novel Salem’s Lot. The Stephen King novel centers on a writer who returns to his hometown to find it infested by vampires. One of King’s most appreciated works, it has already seen big screen and small screen adaptations. Will an HTG producer be able to bring something new to the work? SoF head Lucian is willing to put out 60% of the film’s profits to find out.

Stephen King wrote this already. I’d love to see a sequel or prequel original story, though.

You may notice that a mention was made that the novel was already adapted. Plus the “bring something new” bit. One of the purposes of HTG is to see what we can do… what if, blah blah.
There was a Return to Salem’s Lot that many considered untrue to the original.
