Eep! We Made a Boo Boo!

Occasionally we at What’s Happening find ourselves in a pickle. To report the news of HTG Hollywood as much as we desire, sometimes we have to put ourselves out on a limb. Usually we stay up there, publishing an article on something true and newsworthy. At other times we fall from that branch, missing our mark and making an error. On Sunday we made a mistake. We’d like to own up to it.

We reported on the 11th that Baseball Mogul Productions might be working on an all-monkey adaptation of Tennessee William’s play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Our investigation was cursory and not up to snuff. It turns out that Pedro and the gang at BMP are not working on the chimp-cast CoaHTR.

“It was just too good to be true” remarked a Happening staffer when the truth was discovered. “Stanley Kowolski is one of the most dynamic characters in fiction. Can you imagine a chimpanzee portraying him? It would have been too exciting for words. Perhaps something so perfect was never meant to be.”

Pedro’s several releases include the current Grand Theft Dog and this weekend’s Are You There, God? But no monkey movie. We at Happening wish to express our regrets to Pedro and anyone associated with Baseball Mogul. We hope that your future films are as good as expected and that you can forgive us for this transgression.

However, if you do decide to make a monkey-fied adaptation in the future, please let us know.

Being Unreasonable is One Thing, But Turning Purple is Another

The first poster for horror film To the Edge has been released. Directed by Duality’s Alex Aja and authored by new HTG resident Kaven, the plot is described as “When a new type of alcohol emerges, fresh from another country, America loves it. They love it, until, they find it out causes the consumer to become extremely violet and unreasonable, starting a chain of murders, and an all-out outbreak.”

To be distributed by Flip Brothers Studio, rumor has it that Wes Craven may get involved with presenting the feature. Attempts to contact the studio about why a drink would cause someone to turn violet failed as of this writing.

“I think it must be something like what happened to Violet in Willy Wonka” guessed a Happening staffer. “Maybe the beer is brewed with a special Wonkesque blueberry. I’m not sure, but that’s my guess.”

More information will be provided on To the Edge when it develops.

To the Edge is scheduled for a January 30 release.
