Show Looking for Some Color

Filed under: Other, Talents, Films, TV Shows

Happening has just learned that HTG favorite TCW is holding auditons for a new color commentator for its wrestling shows. Backstage reports are that Kyle Rhodes has been demoted to interviewer while Floyd Goldworthy has been moved to a corporate role within the company. Extreme promoter Paul Heyman has reportedly been interviewed, as well as recent birthday boy Jimmy Hart. Bobby “The Brain” Heenan was considered, but recent health issues made choosing him out of the question. And there were some odder choices, like comedian Norm MacDonald and former basketball star/Hulk Hogan’s Championship Wrestling Champion Dennis Rodman. Actress Rosie Perez gave a spirited announcing tryout, but her voice was determined to be too grating for the average TCW fan.

Security reported an incident where SCTV/SNL alum Martin Short was captured by security attempting to invade the closed set. A physical altercation allegedly occured, with Short being tased by security at the incident’s conclusion. Short insisted on receiving an audition, although denied repeatedly.

“Do you know who I am?” screamed the comic actor, “I’m Martin freagin’ Short! I could own all of you if I wanted! All of you!”

Rumor has it that Short had once tried out to be a performer on the show years ago, bringing a Mad Hatter gimmick. When it was deemed unusable, Short was unhappy, but did leave without the use of force.

Results of the tryouts will be announced once a decision has been made, according to an insider at Ship of Fooles, the overseer of the TCW production.

The TCW: Excessive Force pay-per-view is in theatres now.
