I Got Home Late and Wasn’t Ready to Post Any Real News Before Midnight, So Here’s a Pic of Our New Mayor. That’s News, Right?

It looks like the Hollywood Stars football team has just lost another member in the form of LL Cool J. The rapper/actor, the star of the Mac the Moviguy produced Sparks, has been tapped to do another season of the show that doesn’t seem capable of dying.
For those of you new to town, Sparks has been an ongoing show that started out as a 24-esque drama about a bomb squad. Due to failing ratings, the show turned into a farce before getting canceled by Rogue Net. It came back to life when HMTV picked it up for its inaugural session. The show lasted 2 episodes before being canceled and then revived again. It’s been on the air ever since, and will be back this session on DRTV (formerly HMTV).
Sparks has had 2 spin-off films from the series. First, released by Lake Hope Features, was 1.4.8, a documentary featuring the former cast members of Sparks as themselves talking about the AIDS epidemic in Africa. The documentary was a critical and financial flop. It was followed by Sparks: The Movie, a release of the suppose-to-air season finale. It was edited and released theatrically. It was a critical flop, but a fair financial success.
Like every season of Sparks, the supporting cast has changed once again. Leaving the players from last session are Tyler Labine and Angela Kinsey. Taking their spots are Bradley Cooper, Adrian Grenier and Elizabeth Reaser. (For all of you who don’t know, Bradley Cooper was on Mac’s other show Atlantis before being killed off and Elizabeth Reaser was on Teach Me.) Returning are Zach Galifianakis, Channing Tatum, Sara Ramriez and, of course, LL Cool J.
Sparks is set to return to DRTV this session and will air at 10:30pm on Wednesday nights.

With just a day to soak in her victory, Mayor-Elect Megan Fox is diving into the preparation for the job she will begin on January 1. Current HTG Hollywood leader Chris Harmer gave Miss Fox a tour of the city today, with emphasis on works in progress.
“The highlight of the day was the boardwalk,” stated a city representative. “After a nice lunch at the Drunken Clam, Mayor Harmer took the Mayor-Elect to the water’s edge and had a discussion on where they would like HTG Hollywood to go next year. With more and more movies being released and the excitement of recent additions to the city, there’s bound to be something for everybody. Miss Fox agreed that promoting these activities would be a top goal of her administration.”
The Mayor-Elect is scheduled to appear in the Flip Brothers Studio release of Wonder Woman, coming soon.

In what many are calling a political shocker, actress Megan Fox has won the general election to become 2009’s HTG Hollywood Mayor. With 9 votes of the 19 cast, Miss Fox topped incumbent Chris Harmer by just 1 vote.
“Perhaps it was the youth support,” pondered a resident when the results were posted.
“I blame Ramsey, Nadering me with the foreign vote,” commented Harmer campaign manager Teufel.
We will report further comments and observations concerning the election as they develop.
Confusing even the most astute minds in HTG Hollywood, Island of Terror and 100% Wool Necktie Warehouse owner Bryan Bishop has made a change to one of the locations on his off-the-coast home. Bishop has turned his private zoo to Bryan Bishop’s Animal Prison. Zookeeper Arthur Hoggett has had his title changed to Warden.
“I believe that this reflects what is really going on over there,” remarked Bishop during a break in his busy production schedule. The 10K Cases operator refused to elaborate any further on what the operations would entail.
Visits to the Animal Prison can be made by appointment and by passing a simple 3-stage obstacle course.
“I can’t let just anyone in” concluded Bishop.

10,000 Cases Production head Bryan Bishop is preparing for the release of his newest installation in his blockbuster Dick Tracy franchise, Dick Tracy: Domino Midnight. The previous film, 2007’s Dick Tracy: The Killing Moon, earned a whopping $513,071,279 worldwide, making it the second highest grossing picture in HTG history.
James McAvoy has been cast as Flattop Jr., son of ace hitman Flattop portrayed by Oliver Platt in the original 2004 Dick Tracy release on HTG. Tim Burton is expected to return as director and Tom Hanks back as trenchcoat crimefighter Dick Tracy.
Dick Tracy: Domino Midnight is scheduled for a November 28 release.
With HTG TV Season 6 still left to be broadcast, Badge of Justice producer Kris Greet is already in the planning stages for another cop drama.
“It’s a spin-off of Badge of Justice called Badge of Justice: Las Vegas,” KG informed me in HTG Chat. ” I did a BOJ episode a couple of season’ ago that feaurtred Eddie Cibrian as Detective Carter’s (Michael Biehn) little brother, a cop with a gambling problem. This show is going to focus more on the justice system (as opposed to the police aspect).”
Part of the planning involves getting the right cast involved. Kris is looking for a strong attractive woman to take one of the leads, the Assistant District Attorney.
“No restraints on race, height, etc.” explained the producer. “Any suggestions would be appreciated.”
Badge of Justice will return to the newly-named Flip Brothers TV network on November 5 for Season 6.
With the success of Hollywood Swan Song on his resume, Mac the Movieguy is looking to the future. He plans on buying the rights to Five Came Back, a 1939 property considered by some to be the father of disaster movies. Rather than wait until January to be able to produce his film adaptation free of franchise charge, Mac is going ahead with the purchase.
“I’m going to get right on it and get it out,” the eager Mac commented. Although a filming schedule has not yet been established, he hopes to have the movie released before year’s end.
After weeks of inactivity, the Slacker Mafia blog Slacker vs. Unicorn and the competing Fierce Force Five blog have been updated. Featuring a short snippet about gun ownership in the former and a handful of leaked news on the latter, will we see a return to the face-off between the two organizations?
“I don’t think any heat is brewing between the groups” guessed a local citizen. “I think that’s good. Maybe Mayor Harmer did have something to do with that. Maybe not. It’s hard to tell, with all of this political rhetoric going on.”
