Yoda Thrashes Oscar

The Oscars were a ratings dud. Early research tells us that Sunday night’s broadcast earned 14% lower viewers than the lowest-rated showing before.
Was it because the show was too predictible to bother with? Were viewers turned off by the lack of entertainment brought on by the recent writers’ strike?
The answer is no, according to HTG Hollywood’s Mayor Chris Harmer.
“No one bothered watching the latest Academy Awards,” a representative from the mayor’s office informed us, “because people were ‘awarded out.’ The 6th HTG Awards just occured. Thanks to a generous amount of time provided by Mayor Harmer, the recent HTG Awards was a ratings smash. Everyone cared about the winners. They had to know who would take home the Golden Yodas. Once that was over, who cared about any Oscars?”
Rumor has it that the HTG Awards scheduled for a year from now may be timed so that the same ratings catastrophe will not occur.
“It only seems fair to give the Academy Awards a fair shot,” concluded the mayor’s rep. “But, to be honest, there’s nothing more exciting than the HTG Awards. And they’re twice a year!”
