Welcome to the HTG Neighborhood

Hollywood the Game is a dynamic game, always in some sort of development. Five weeks ago we saw the introduction of HTG’s television aspect. Recently banner ads have returned to certain pages after technical difficulties forced their removal months ago. Three weeks ago saw the building of the HTG Computer Center, a collection of links to sites outside of the HTG realm. Other game extras such as memorabilia factories and stores are also in the works.

The front page of Hollywood the Game sports a map of our fictional town. It is the subject of one of the next updates to HTG.

With the signing of new players to the game, real estate becomes very crowded. It’s not easy any longer to buy a new small house, because all but a few have already been purchased. Rather than fill in more of the undeveloped space on the map, Real Estate Administrator Ritchie Steven has come up with a next step – neighborhoods.

For most of the buildings on the HTG map now, you only have to click on the building from the map to get to that home or business page. With the neighborhood system in development, many locations will be accessed through a neighborhood page. That page, one for each neighborhood, would be linked from the main town map and would have building icons that provide links to the individual pages.

Following is a rough intial concept for a neighborhood map. Only one building is present at this time, a house (the yellow icon). Once more homes are purchased for this neighborhood, more icons would be added. Ritchie has stated that he may even add dotted lines showing where those houses would be.

An interesting part of this neighborhood map is that this section of town is an actual representation of a Los Angeles neighborhood. With the numerous mapping sites on the Internet, using real L.A. neighborhoods to symbolize our HTG ones is an easier process.

Ritchie thinks that he’ll need to take a week or so away from other duties on HTG to get this neighborhood system in place, so the change won’t take place immediately. But, when the new neighborhoods are on the HTG map, we will have room for new player building purchases and the luxury of several different places to chose from.

So save up your cash and keep those building vouchers! A new real estate boom is about to hit Hollywood the Game.

HTG Resident Gains Houseguest

By Buzz

Residents at the southern edge of HTG Hollywood recently had a rowdy awakening when a moving van with Radiohead blaring out of it’s stereo pulled into the driveway of longtime resident Mattricks. The Gold Mine Gutted co-producer has invited friend Bam Margera to stay at his mansion’s pool house until the wild Margera finds arrangements elsewhere. I managed to catch up with Mattricks to get the skinny on what was going on.

“Yeah, it’s been just me and the girls for the last couple months” stated the eager Mattricks. “I’m really looking forward to Bam being here. He’s a fun, out of control guy who was nice enough to appear in three of my movies. We’ll have the best parties in HTG Town. I just hope we don’t tick off Chuck next door.”

When questioned about the safety of Margera near a swimming pool, Mattricks seemed calm.

“He’ll be fine” was all the Bulletproof studio chief managed to say before he was assaulted by his previously mentioned female houseguests. After an hour of heated frolicking, Mattricks returned.

“Anyway, I’ve got plenty of things lined up for Bam. Besides the Kamikaze movies, there’s my Crow adaptation, Pinball Wizards, plus The Ballad of Aaron Frey. Nothing’s set in stone, though. But I’m sure everything will work out.”

I decided to cut the interview short when I noticed Margera approaching with a blow torch and dragging a goat on a leash. I wish Mattricks the best with his new houseguest. Hopefully the HTG Police Department won’t have to make too many visits to the mansion.
