The Party of the Year
By Aaron Rowland
The grand opening for Flip Brothers Pizzeria was as star studded of an event as Hollywood has seen in a decade. Believe it or not, I couldn’t get tickets. That couldn’t stop this humble reporter, so here’s what I was able to see through the front glass window.
At the first table was the infamous bad boy Chris Harmer dining with the acting talents of Tim Roth and Julianne Moore. They left shortly after, and I think I can safely assume it was to participate in the most frightening
threesome ever.
Dining at the next table was Broderick. One can only guess he is planning a Charlie’s Angels remake, because dining with him was Sharon Stone, Meg Ryan, Selma Hayek, and his Bosley, Brian Cox. After all the ladies shared a single piece of pizza, Brian Cox was kind enough to finish their pizza off, as well as all five of his.
At the final table was old money, Kris Greet. Sitting with Kris was Terrance Stamp and Orlando Bloom. Kris and Orlando seemed deep in conversation, making this reporter wonder if a collaboration is upcoming. As they were dining, owner Ritchie Stevens walked over and personally delivered their pizza. I have no training in reading lips and I was about twenty yards away, but I’m pretty sure as he was delivering it, he mentioned that he had made the pizzas himself.
Outside of the restaurant I saw a vendor and decided to see what he was selling. I was stoked to see he had some kick-ass “Downtown” t-shirts for sale. He said that he had just run out of Green Lantern posters, but let me
know who was lucky enough to pick them up. Harmer, Broderick, and even Hollywood Times editor Ninjalibrarian had purchased these limited edition posters, and he had even given Harmer and Broderick a DVDs for their respective DVD libraries. He only had three Downtown t-shirts for sale, and I was disappointed I hadn’t brought any money in my wallet.
As I was just about to depart, I watched Bill Murray, Molly Shannon, Minnie Driver, and a group of other talented celebrities walk right into Flip Brothers. It made me wonder, who is going to dine with them? Flip Brothers Pizzeria can be found right next to Flip Brothers studio and is open for lunch and dinner.
